Setting up a guardianship is the process when the court appoints one person to act for another person – sometimes due to age, but also in the cases of persons with a disability or health issue. A guardian may be appointed to manage personal matters including health care, and/or financial matters for the person. The appointment may be temporary or permanent. We can guide you through the process and help you understand the guardian’s role and duties.
